Celebrity bio
Flanker Ben Woods moved to Leicester Tigers in 2009 and capped his first year with starts in the Guinness Premiership and Heineken Cup Finals, claiming a try in the latter against Leinster at Murrayfield.
He picked up a second Premiership winner’s medal in 2010 as a member of the 23-man squad for the Twickenham final win over Saracens.
Named in the England Saxons squad for a third Churchill Cup in 2009, Ben scored in the final. He also went to the tournament in 2006 and 2007, and played against Ireland A at Welford Road in February 2008.
A former Durham University student, Ben also studied law at Cambridge, where he won a Blue.
His progress at Newcastle was halted by a broken leg which sidelined him for the whole of the 2004/05 season, but he scored a try with his first touch of the ball in his comeback game for the Falcons against NEC Green Rockets in Japan and was named Players’ Player of the Year in 2006/07.
