Fashion expert, award-winning TV presenter, author and all round national treasure, Gok Wan has taken the fashion and TV world by storm and has become one of the UK’s most sought-after entertainers.
He made his mark by giving women the confidence to appreciate their bodies, whatever their size and encouraged women whatever their shape and size to strip for the nation!
Gok initially pursued performing arts and began attending a course at the Charles Keene College of Further Education and then studied at London’s prestigious Central School of Speech and Drama. There he found himself drawn to hair and make-up over drama, prompting his entrée into the fashion industry and gaining him early work as a hair and make-up artist on titles such as The Sunday Times Style. Finding himself dissatisfied with beauty alone, Gok decided to pursue his love of clothes as a fashion stylist… and the rest, as they say, is history!
Since Gok’s arrival in the spotlight in 2006, he has presented numerous highly acclaimed, top rated TV shows for Channel 4 including: Gok's Teens, How to Look Good Naked, Gok's Fashion Fix, Goks's Clothes Roadshow, Gok Wan:Too Fat Too Young and Made in China.
Gok has presented numerous live events including How To Look Good Naked Live, and has also been a guest presenter at The Brits and The Comedy Awards. Having also hosted his own live show in Poland he has gone on to front three of his own Style Tour’s for Westfield visiting shopping mall’s across Australia showing the Ozzies all they need to know about fashion.
And still without doubt a career highlight for Gok was when he got to meet SJP and the girls when he presented live from the red carpet for both of the Sex and the City movie premieres.
Gok has written his autobiography, Through Thick and Thin. He has also written three successful style books. He also writes a weekly column for Reveal Magazine, and has also written for Sky Mag, Look Magazineand First Magazine.
Gok fronts the Vodaphone Foundations Initiative World of Difference, he is an ambassador for Kidscape and is actively engaged with fundraising and awareness for Stonewall, Starlight, MyNewHair, Comice Relief, Breast Cancer Care, Children in Need and Cancer Research UK amongst many other amazing charities.
