Friends of the Earth is an environmental campaigning charity – we want a healthy planet and a good quality of life for all those who live on it. Over our 40 year history, we have achieved a great deal to protect the environment, from being the first UK charity to tackle climate change to the introduction of doorstep recycling.

Our campaigns change the world by changing politics, because to make real and lasting changes we need Governments to act on our behalf. We are the only organisation whose main focus is involving people in taking political action together to solve the environmental problems we all face. In 2008 our Big Ask campaign was supported by more than 200,000 people and led to the Climate Change Act, a world-first commitment from the UK Government to cut greenhouse gases.

We are dependent on individuals for over 90% of our income.
